1, DI printing is now losing money or making money? If you accompany losing money, how do you estimate your future? When can you recuperate your investment?
We are optimistic about this project, otherwise we will not invest. With a simple method to estimate, the printing press prints at 10,000 impressions per hour. If there is a business with 100,000 prints per day, and if there can be a net profit of RMB 1 per print, there can be a net profit of 10,000 yuan per day, and this estimate is not excessive. Therefore, recovering the investment within 5 to 6 years should not be a problem.
At present, the aircraft is in the trial operation stage, it has not officially opened its doors to the public, and it has not advertised it. Therefore, the business has not yet opened up and is currently in a state of losing money. After the official start of the external business, it will be flat or profitable soon.
2. Is it difficult to master DI's printing technology? What is the scrap rate when printing plates are used now? What is the estimated scrap rate for normal production?
Not difficult. The prepress technology of the DI is the same as that of an ordinary output center; the operation of the DI printer is easier to master, and skilled workers who once worked in the printing plant through the Heidelberg press can take up a month of training to take up the job. It is one thing to learn to operate, and to use it skillfully is another matter. Now due to the lack of familiarity with the performance of the equipment, there are cases where printing is bad, and the average scrap rate of the printing plate is 7%, which is estimated to gradually drop to about 2% to 3%.
3. Is there any problem with the prepress and printing of DI? How large is the prepress equipment that is compatible with DI?
The pre-press portion of DI is basically the same as an ordinary output center. Technically speaking, there is no problem in coordinating with DI, but in terms of production capacity, the output of ten output centers can feed a Speedmaster DI. Only a few computers on the prepress part cannot make DI work. Therefore, from a business point of view, the cooperation between prepress and DI requires an external source of electronic documents, that is, there should be enough electronic document providers. If there are enough electronic documents to live, this unit can only be equipped with a few Macs, PCs and a high-precision scanner, there are 4-5 people.
4. Is there any problem with the supply of DI printing plates and other consumables? How much is the import tax for materials and importation costs?
The plates used by DI are manufactured by the United States Presstek and are available in the United States. The ink uses ordinary imported waterless ink, and there is no problem in buying it abroad. Since these materials need to be imported, they have to pay import duties and their tax rate is 40%-50%. In addition, due to the small amount we currently use, the cost of printing plates and inks is still high, which leads to increased printing costs. Reducing the cost of importing consumables is our immediate goal. In the long run, printing plates and inks produced in the country can significantly reduce costs.
5. Is DI printing and traditional printing competing in the market? What are the advantages and disadvantages of DI in the competition?
DI printing will cause a certain impact on traditional printing, just as the appearance of television has impact on movies, but from another perspective, it is a supplement to traditional printing, because the two are not the same thing, not the same Level of things. Like Speedpost, our slogan is "Express Print." DI's market position is fast and high quality, which is its advantage. But the current DI charges are also higher, which makes it disadvantageous in the competition.
6. What are the percentages of major users of DI printing? Advertising companies, hotels, publishing houses, export centers, foreign trading companies, shopping malls, companies, etc.
Since we are still in the trial operation stage, there are no detailed statistics yet, but intuitively, there are more customers in advertising companies, hotels, foreign companies, and shopping malls. From the current situation, most of the high turnover is the end user.
7. How much is the user's price for DI expensive, reasonable, and cheap? Is it possible for the price of DI to decrease again?
Most users are too expensive for DI, especially second-hand contractors. For urgent or large corporate users, the price of DI can be accepted. The most important way to reduce prices is to reduce raw material costs.
8. What is the failure rate during the trial period of the DI? Is the cause of the failure an equipment quality problem, an unskilled technician, or an accident of liability? What is the response time for repairing a fault?
In the first month after the installation of DI, there were many faults, including many electrical faults and mechanical faults. Basically, problems such as circuit boards, cables, and power supply were solved by replacing components. The response time of Baolong Yanghang, which is responsible for maintenance, was within 24 hours. The services provided by Baolong Yanghang were basically satisfactory. Now the equipment is running and tends to be stable.
9. How is DI's hand service? How long does it take to get basic skills? How to provide information?
The overall quality of Baolong Yanghang’s staff is high, and the training and services are basically satisfactory. For a certain basic technical staff, it takes about one month to master the DI technology. In addition, DI has a global 24-hour service hotline and provides international Internet services. However, the description information provided is not detailed enough. There is no explanation in Chinese.
10. How to solve the problem of DI proofing?
Because DI does not have the traditional film process, it can not use the traditional contact proofing method to proof. Therefore, how to solve the problem of DI proofing is a subject of considerable concern. There are two ways to solve this problem:
1) Use high-quality proofing equipment, equipped with advanced color measuring instruments, and then use color management methods to provide users with pre-press proofing.
2) DI itself is a proofer and no additional proofing is provided. After printing, the user can fine-tune the color according to the actual printed proofs.
The former is a more reasonable solution for DI proofing. Recently, a Swiss company has also launched software specifically designed for DI proofing. At present, we adopt the latter and use only a cheap color printer for proofreading. According to recent practice, we find that this method is acceptable to end users, but it is not appropriate for inactive middlemen. As mentioned above, in order to give full play to the production capacity of DI, foreign electronic documents should be accepted as much as possible. If no proofing method is used, it will certainly make some users out of the show and dampen the enthusiasm of middlemen. Therefore, The former should be selected when conditions permit.
11. What is the difference between DI and direct plate making?

13. Is it possible to accept electronic documents from the export center and what kind of electronic documents will have problems?
As long as the foreign electronic file meets the Postscript level 2 standard. There will be no problem. There will be no problem. If something goes wrong, there may be problems in the Chinese font processing factory. There are two solutions:
1) When forming a Postscript file, change the character shape of the Chinese character to the Postscript description;
2) Use single-byte Chinese character fonts.
We use the former for external electronic documents. We use the latter for our own production of documents.
14. What are the special requirements for DI's printing parameters for electronic documents?
One is to meet the DI requirements for size, and the second is to select 150 lpi/1270 dpi for resolution, and 175 lpi/2450 dpi for optional. In addition, in the use of software such as Photoshop for color separation, ink parameters should use European standards
