1. During the welding process, keep the given electrode diameter to ensure the electrode contact area. The contact area is small, the welding parameters are not reached, and the welding effect is reduced. If the contact surface is too large, it is easy to make the electrode tip become mushroom-shaped and reduce the current intensity. It will also reduce the welding effect and cause cracks in the weldment.

2. The electrode cooling must meet the requirements. Insufficient cooling will also make the electrode tip mushroom-shaped, the electrode wear is severe, and the electrode contact surface will have cracks. When cooling the electrode, water should continuously flow through the hollow electrode.

3. The upper and lower electrodes are coaxial and perpendicular to the workpiece. Otherwise, the welding will be dislocated and spatter will occur, and the electrode wear will be severe.

4. Adjust the given welding time according to the welding specification. Welding time is insufficient, even if other parameters are within the specified range, the welding effect will still be weakened. If the welding time is too long, it is easy to make the electrode tip shape, which shortens the electrode life and causes cracks or de-welding of the workpiece.

5. Use sufficient electrode pressure, but not too much. Insufficient pressure will cause splashing, accelerate electrode wear, and cause cracks in the internal nugget. If the pressure is too high, the welding strength is insufficient or changes. At this time, the current is too large, which will make the electrode head form a mushroom or dog teeth.

6. After adjusting the welding time and welding pressure, adjust the welding current to an appropriate value, and then conduct a welding destructive test, and measure the welding strength and welding size. Adjust the current strength until the welding strength and welding dimensions measured in the destructive test are satisfactory.

7. Make sure the surface of the workpiece is clean. Dirt on the surface of the workpiece will stick to the surface of the electrode when welding, thereby shortening the life of the electrode, burning the working surface, producing marks on the surface of the workpiece, and reducing the quality of the joint.

8. The electrode approach speed should not be too fast, otherwise it will accelerate electrode wear and damage the equipment. If the speed is too fast, the protruding welding pole will be flattened and the welding quality will be reduced.

9. Allow sufficient pressurization time and maintenance time, so that the weld nugget can be completely solidified. Insufficient pressure time is easy to produce splashes, burn the electrode, weaken the welding effect, and produce traces on the surface of the workpiece.

10. The same welding can not be performed on the solder joints that have not been welded. If the weldment needs to be repaired, it needs to wait for the weldment to cool down before welding with a higher current. If a welding fails, the given welding parameters and welding machine capacity should be checked. A welding failure is usually due to incorrect preset parameters or insufficient capacity of the resistance welding machine.

11. Check the welding quality by mechanical method or non-destructive testing.
