Newspaper printing and rotary printing ink environmental protection

The level of development in the printing industry can be said to be a sign of the degree of development of a country or region. With the development of society, the improvement of people’s living standards, the increasing amount of information disseminated, and the rapid development of newspaper printing. Among them, the three major new factors in the newspaper printing industry - high-speed printing, color printing and commercial rotary printing, have greatly influenced and promoted the development of web offset printing inks.

In recent years, many places in China, especially the developed areas in the southeast, and of course some provinces and cities in the central and western regions, have established large newspaper groups. In order to meet the timeliness of the newspapers and the need for large amounts of printing, they have purchased the most advanced printing equipment in the world today, and the maximum printing speed has reached 150,000 sheets/hour. Such a high printing speed, the ink of the ink, such as viscosity, viscosity, fluidity, drying speed. Water resistance and so on have put forward higher requirements.

Now, major newspaper groups are basically dominated by color newspapers. Therefore, four color inks for offset printing were developed. Like the four-color offset printing inks for sheetfed offset printing, four-color offset printing inks also have stringent requirements for color registration.

Commercial rotary printing (coating paper color rotary printing) has become increasingly popular. Therefore, domestically developed thermosetting rotary offset printing ink suitable for color printing has also been developed. Unlike general web offset inks, thermoset web offset inks must have both the properties and the functionality of both web offset inks and sheet-fed offset inks. Therefore, the current high-speed web offset printing ink is no longer a rotary offset printing ink in the previous concept, and there have been great changes in variety, performance and other aspects.

Although China's web offset printing ink has developed rapidly and some products have been comparable to similar foreign products, there is a problem of unbalanced development, mainly in the following two aspects.

1. Offset Offset Black Ink Because newspapers are reading products that are in close contact with readers, its toxicity directly affects the safety of readers and the reading environment, and it also poses a danger to the printing press shop. In foreign countries, inks made with asphalt binders have been eliminated several decades ago. However, in China, many newspapers still use web offsets produced from asphalt and petroleum resin because of their weak environmental awareness and cost reasons. Ink, to a certain extent, hinders the development and promotion of quality products.

2. Rotary offset color ink

The proportion of color newspapers in newspapers is increasing. However, the quality of new rotary offset color inks is far from universal. Many newspaper printing companies continue to use color inks produced from asphalt and petroleum resin binders. Develop high-grade printing ink

With the improvement of people's living standards, the understanding of environmental protection and health is becoming more and more profound. Therefore, our ink production, including web offset printing inks and all other types of inks, must solve environmental problems, as far as offset printing inks are concerned. The following steps can be taken.

(1) Ink manufacturers do not use asphalt and untreated petroleum resin and other harmful substances in the ink formulation, and printing companies also try not to use such ink products.
(2) Develop and promote new web offset printing inks, gradually phase out the current asphalt and petroleum resin inks.
(3) Research and development of environmentally friendly ink products such as aromatic-free or low-aromatic inks, low-VOC inks or solvent-free inks, and renewable resource soybean oil inks.
