Environmental protection design of all aspects of packaging products

Environmental design of materials

Environmental protection materials refer to materials that have good environmental compatibility under the premise of meeting general functional requirements. The selection of environmentally friendly materials is one of the prerequisites and key factors in the development of environmentally friendly products. When selecting raw materials, it is important to observe the following principles:

(1) Recycled materials are preferred, and recycled materials are used as much as possible to increase resource utilization and achieve sustainable development.

(2) Try to use less energy-consuming and less polluting materials.

(3) Try to choose materials with good environmental compatibility and avoid the use of toxic, hazardous, and radioactive materials. The materials used should be easily recycled, reused, remanufactured, or easily degraded.

Technological environmental design

There are mainly the following ways to achieve the environmental protection process:

(1) Change the input method of raw materials, use them locally, and reuse the by-products and recycled products with jersey value, and use various materials in the process.

(2) Change the production process or manufacturing technology, improve process control, renovate existing equipment, and reduce raw material consumption, waste generation, energy consumption, health and safety risks, and ecological damage to a minimum.

(3) Make use of the natural environment as much as possible, conduct corresponding environmental assessments on air, soil, water bodies, and waste discharges, and determine their impact on biodiversity, human health, and natural resources based on the relative scale of environmental load.

Environmental design of products

Environmentally friendly packaging not only meets the environmental protection requirements but also harms human health. In the design can take the following several methods for environmental packaging design:

(1) Save and simplify packaging by improving old technologies and adopting new technologies. The phenomenon of “excessive packaging” that has appeared on the international market has exceeded the requirements of the packaging function and the need for design. It wastes resources and aggravates environmental pollution. Environmentally-friendly packaging products should avoid this situation as much as possible.

(2) Strengthen the technology and development of recycling and reuse of packaging materials, recycle existing packaging waste, and develop corresponding alternative packaging products.

(3) By changing the product structure, the weight of the product can be reduced, the effect of improving and reducing the cost can be reduced, and the adverse impact on the environment can be reduced.

(4) Improve the internal structural strength of products, reduce the risk of product damage during transportation, reduce packaging materials, and reduce packaging costs.

Environmental design for recycling

In environmental product design, the use of raw materials and energy, environmental load, safety, reliability, and cost are important factors when evaluating a repeated reuse program. Their relationship is as follows:

Reuse Social Benefits = Daily Value of Goods + Reduced Total Disposal Fees - Collection and Processing Fees

When considering repeated efficiency and costs, Germany proposed a “retrieve” reuse policy, which is a brand-new understanding of design. Products are not sold to consumers but are "leased" from manufacturers, which not only reduces the environmental load but also saves money. Therefore, in order to make production easier to recycle, there is greater commercial value, and companies should try to do a detachable design in the development of environmentally friendly products. Removable product refers to the design of a product that can be disassembled after its use. It uses the product design process to link output (waste and waste products, etc.) to input (raw material), thereby creating an environment-friendly product. Product design ideas and practices. At present, Design for Disassembly (DFD) is mainly focused on non-destructive disassembly. Nowadays, many foreign companies have adopted a detachable design and have developed popular eco-friendly products.

Environmental design of the process

In the process of product use, resources are consumed and the environment is difficult to bear. Therefore, at the product design stage, sufficient attention must be paid to the energy consumption and environmental pollution caused by product use. The design of environmental protection products should be oriented toward the use of the products, combined with the characteristics and working methods of the products, using advanced technologies and technologies, and improving design schemes to minimize the energy consumption of the products during use.
