Cloned stem cells are more fidelity

Stem cells produced by nuclear transfer have higher fidelity than reprogrammed cells.

Human pluripotent stem cells are obtained for the first time in human embryonic tissue. The stem cells obtained by this method are still used as the gold standard for evaluation of pluripotent stem cells, since stem cells obtained from embryonic tissues can undoubtedly produce various types of tissues.

There are two ways to obtain stem cells that can form various cell types from a human differentiated cell, one by cloning and the other by inducing pluripotent stem cells by reprogramming. These new technologies are capable of extracting cells from patients and producing stem cells that do not repel the patient.

The first to obtain human pluripotent stem cells by nuclear transfer technology, the more well-known name for this technique is cloning. They successfully obtained embryonic stem cells by placing the nuclei of the skin cells obtained by the culture into unfertilized enucleated egg cells.

The team compared cloned pluripotent stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells. The state of the two cells is compared to the gold standard of the previous pluripotent stem cells, and the relative quality of the two cells is determined by comparing the methylation type of the cells, an epigenetic modification of the DNA. The final results indicate that the expression of more than 1200 genes in these three cells is inconsistent, with 65% of the genetic differences coming from iPS cells and two other embryonic stem cells. This difference shows that embryonic stem cells produced by nuclear transfer have distinct advantages in developing cells into other cell types.
