Bayer develops new thermoplastic polyurethanes

Bayer MaterialScience has recently developed the new Desmopan DP6580AMVT (wet steam transfer) material. This new thermoplastic polyurethane can be used as a fabric coating film and its main feature is its exceptionally high water vapor permeability: water vapour permeability of 15 μm thick films according to German DIN standard 53122 at 38°C and 90% relative humidity. The capacity is 5400g/m2 per day.

According to reports, this new TPU material can be made into a blown film and a flat film by extrusion, and it is also suitable for lamination into sheets. (Qian Bozhang)
